So I've officially finished Vex – have to say it was another interesting ending and I'm slightly disappointed in Skyla but I'll have to leave it at that cause I don't want to spoil it for everyone else still reading. Will check back to see what interesting discussions start.

Hi Danetra – I'm thinking sometime early 2012. I think I'm going to finish and put out EXPEL, first. EPHEMERAL is all finished, it just needs polishing. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you'll enjoy it, too. The Counts are a fun group! We'll be exploring the regeneration process and the reasoning behind it in that series. The Countenance has a much shorter story arc than Celestra.
Hi Kayleigh – I love that you were able to experience such a range of emotion with VEX! The ending to VEX, although tough emotionally, opens EXPEL in an unexpected way. I can't wait to share it with you! Lot's of unexpected twists and turns that progress the overall story arc.

I need to rename my copy STROKE, cause that's what VEX is doing to me lol. My mind is spinning right now and I'm not even halfway through.
And just have to say: I knew it! I knew he had a supervising spirit; I called it back when WICKED came out (I think he's had it since ETHEREAL when he did the treble). I formulate all these crazy theories about this series, so it feels good to actually be right about something lol.
I can't wait to see how VEX ends. This book is ba-na-nas!!

Okay so 1st off, great book! I'm so in love with Gage but can't help but think he's the main reason behind all of Skyla's torment. I think his prophecies were all just huge misunderstandings or misinterpretations of what really happens. I've been kind rooting for Logan from the beginning because he and Skyla just seem linked in a bigger way and her heart just won't let him go. I have never trusted Marshal and I really hate him after this book.
I really hope we get to see the end of this series soon. I love it and I'm ready to see how it all ends. Thanks A.M for continuing to intrigue your readers and keep us hooked =)
To be honest, I thought BURN was as good as this series was going to get, but I’m so glad you’ve proven me wrong with VEX. Your writing is captivating and your talent for telling un-put-downable stories was definitely showcased in this book. “We could return from sand if we had to—form into a beautiful mosaic of glass that told our story in colors,” is the most beautiful metaphor I’ve ever read in my life. I am in awe of how your mind works.
I was up to speed with all the twists and turns until…Chapter 77…I was like, "Whaaaa? WTH?" But I’m going to try to take a stab at it anyway…
I think Marshall wanted to kill two birds with one stone (or car lol): Logan as revenge for stabbing him with the spirit sword, and Gage as a twisted way of giving Skyla what she asked for in keeping Chloe away from him forever…and Marshall sicced the wolves on them as he warned Logan he would. But I’m not sure if it was his intent to kill Skyla also or just frame her for Logan and Gage’s murder by using her Mustang, as her punishment for not abiding by the covenant.
Logan said: ‘The future is going to play out whether or not you know in advance what happens.’
Logan realized the only way to save them would be to try to escape further into the future, but he knew that meant he couldn’t save Gage because only Celestra can light drive into the future
The only way I can see Logan pulling off both dying and living is if he light drove into the past, and convinced past-Logan (from maybe a few hours earlier, since he was wearing the same clothes) to come into the present and be ready to rescue Skyla when he (present-Logan) died. But would that plan require a soul-for-soul exchange?
So now the question is: Was this just a “juncture with destiny” event or an “ordained to die” situation? And if it’s the latter, what happens when you go into a future that wasn’t meant to include you because you were ordained to die today?
Does any of this make sense lol?
Bckygnzlz – I love all of your thoughts! It's so fun for me to get different peoples take on what might be happening in the series. Celestra does end, lol! I guess I have a heart to one day write a series that stretches out forever. Although I might have to venture to MG for that never ending read I'm not sure if I can pull it off for YA but that most likely will not stop me from trying. 😉
My new series 'The Countenance' is slated for three books right now, but if it takes four I'm OK with that. I also have another series coming out that has nothing to do with the five factions and I'm SUPER excited about! Hopefully I'll have a chapter to debut in the release of either EXPEL or EPHEMERAL. I wouldn't release a chapter unless I had the book completed.

About chapter 77, I remember thinking when I was through with it, 'yeah, that just happened'. It's a tough one but opens the next book and the aftereffects continue to drive the plot of EXPEL. EXPEL is different than VEX. Things change. But I don't think anyone can foresee the change or at least I would like to believe they can't. 😉 It's making the Tuesday tease quite the challenge.
I get the feeling that everyone thinks Marshall is responsible for the big event at the end. Funny, I didn't jump to that conclusion. I don't think he would ever be intent on killing Skyla and I don't think he had a beef with Gage other than Skyla loving him. Plus though he does some crazy stuff, he doesn't seem to go about killing people just because. And he wants to win Skyla's love – that would just drive her away from him. Plus you know she is going to demand he fix that whole situation. She is always turning to him to fix her problems. Please tell me they are wrong Addison – I like Marshall (may be the only one) and don't know if I could continue to like him if he is responsible. Argh!!!!!! Too long to wait to get the answer – pretty positive you aren't going to answer this before the release EXPEL.
Danetra – I feel your frustration. Although I suppose part of the fun as a reader is guessing where the story will go, just remember to take speculation as a grain of salt. EXPEL delves into Marshall, the accident, and who may or may not be responsible for it. I like Marshall, too. 😉 Sorry so vague!!
Surprisingly, I like Marshall even more after VEX. He's 2nd on my list after Logan (Gage & Ellis are tied for 3rd lol).
And although it seems obvious to me that he was behind it, we're talking about Paragon, so anything is possible lol.
But it seems Marshall already knew everything with Logan would unfold this way: ‘Think twice before he lures you anywhere…I mean there will come a time when he will lure you somewhere and you may not be able to get back.’
I can't wait until EXPEL; hopefully I'm wrong about Marshall…(but I was right about Gage) so hopefully resurrection is a Levatio gift Gage neglected to mention earlier in the series lol 🙁
And I can't stop thinking about the fact that Ellis has a Fem supervising spirit, and he kissed Skyla on the bus, and Chloe says he still talks about her. Am I reading too much into that?

Regarding Ellis, for sure you're not reading too much into that. Ellis has a light burning in his heart for Skyla, and, well, just about every other girl on Paragon. In EXPEL, Ellis escorts Skyla to a formal event and even tries to kick his nasty habit for her. Oh, and there will be injuries.
Even though I know Skyla will never end up with him, I really like Ellis/Skyla. Not more than Logan/Skyla, but I still like him a lot.
Also, I still can't get over the "helmet" scene. That was so, "WHAT THE HECK?!" and I say that in the best way possible! Love it!
I really love Ellis too. Just didn't think the story would ever head that way – other than Ellis's crush for Skyla. But I am really looking forward to those parts in EXPEL. I know I should love Skyla and Gage but just can't do it. With Logan – kind feel like there is so much crap between them that it is hard to still see the love. But in the end I think and could be completely wrong that it is between Marshall and Logan. For some reason I always thought Gage might die and not be there. I think it had to do with his poem. Can't what to find out some of these great answers in EXPEL. But it's Tuesday! Headed over to FB to see if teasers are posted yet. But technically only been Tuesday for an hour your time.
Logan – Ellis definitely has a likable quality about him. It is very nice of him to fight alongside Skyla in the faction war. He risks a lot to do it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the helmet scene. Poor, poor, Kate. At least they figured out a way to reattach it for the funeral. All's well that ends well, except maybe in that scenario. 😉
Danetra – I love hearing your commentary on the boys in Skyla's life! I think that the love she has from Gage and Logan comes from an equal footing, in that, one desires her as much as the other. I hope you enjoyed the teasers over at FB! =)

…and now that we're further along in the series, I was wondering if it's ok to ask a question again that I had asked a long time ago (but couldn't be answered at the time): In ETHEREAL, Ellis tells Skyla that he knows she's going to see Logan but he's not the right one for her. And when she asks him what he means, he says, 'I mean, I am.' Does Ellis mean, Logan is not the right Count for her? Did he already know Logan was part Count from seeing his name in the book?
Amber J – lol, I suppose it is. As far as that stuff from Ethereal the meaning behind it still has to play out. It's subtle but has importance. Just like Ellis. 😉
I am going to say that Tad is going to turn out to have a huge part in all of skylas problems., Remember when he touched her and totally recoiled and skyla thought it was because he might realize that she can hear him?? Well I think that is just it. I think that he has more up his sleeve and worried she might be able to read his mind. I think hes going to be a bigger jerk than we realize.
As for the book coming out in early 2012… can we say January 1?? I think I might be able to hold out that long;)

I love this blog! I read other people's theories and it gets my wheels going! I thought the car situation was a mixture of Chloe and Marshall but now I'm not sure what I think! Everybody has such a creative theory that mine tend to skip out and have me believing the others more lol! I can't wait to read what everyone else has to say once we let these thoughts simmer lol.

Some random questions that came to me while out Christmas shopping lol:
1. In VEX, when the car races toward them they jump to avoid it; I get why Logan comes crashing down, but why didn't Gage just levitate?
2. In WICKED, Gage tells Skyla in his vision the judge says, 'I now pronounce you man and wife'; but at the courthouse in VEX, the judge says, 'You may now kiss the bride.' Gage reacts like he thinks this is his vision coming to fruition, but is it really?
3. In VEX, Skyla's mother says, 'Only the most pure of any faction is eligible to grasp the title'; we know Skyla is the purest Celestra, soo…who's the purest Count? Ellis?

And to answer your question regarding Ellis; EXPEL introduces the Harrison's just a little bit more.

Also, I don't know if you read authors in your own subgenre, but if you do, Angelfall by Susan Ee has all of us Angel/Nephilim lovers in a tizzy lol. Like out of nowhere we've all become obsessed with it, and she's self-pubbed like you. Actually, this book makes me realize your depiction of Marshall is very accurate since angels aren't cuddly and loveable like people think they are lol.

I love this series my kindle always has the best recommendations and was more then willing to christin my fire with vex bit now I feel as if I could chuck it across the room with the ending and on not going to make it to the release (no matter how often I say that) guess everyone feels that way and I'm getting so mad at skyla for blowing off Logan o I'm so hoping I won't cry for days after expel.

I did think that she came to understand the fact her feelings for Logan were still very much alive in VEX and that always complicates things. I wish I could offer you spoilers of EXPEL but since I can't do that I will say, I think EXPEL will be a healing book. As the series winds down to an end, decisions are going to be made, and Skyla will most certainly feel the consequences of her previous actions. I hope you'll find much satisfaction with EXPEL when it comes out. Happy New Year to you!

I love today's teasers, but I didn't know if it was okay to ask these questions on FB:
1. Is it possible the "someone" that Skyla is telling "We are never going to work" is Gage, and that she thinks if she goes back in time and breaks his heart so they weren't together, then she can prevent him from dying?
2. Now that Ethan is back in his own body, is he going to remember that Chloe killed him?
3. When Logan's uncles went back in time to rescue him, how did Uncle Barron bring him back. I assume Liam was a Celestra and that's how they light drove into the past, but how did Barron and Logan get back to the present? (I've been trying to figure this one out since ETHEREAL lol)
Addison! The Tuesday Teasers were killer! I'm dying to read EXPEL. Even though I'm Team Logan (even more now after VEX), I don't believe Gage is dead! I can't believe it! I won't believe it!
